Vers une notation musicale graphique multimédia.
Un projet rattaché à son histoire et inscrit dans son temps présenté ici sous forme d’un ensemble de textes qui en retracent l’émergence.
NOTATION GRAPHIQUE :
“Lorsqu’on lit la partition de Morton Feldman comme King of Denmark ou Zyklus de Stockhausen, ou même Psappha de Xenakis, même pour un non initié, on voit des formes et donc on peut également voir des mouvements allant vers le plus ou le moins, voir, et donc entendre les silences… On est capable de parler de densification, ou de raréfaction, d’accelerando ou de rallentando, de forte ou piano, de sons longs ou courts, bref, tout ce dont a besoin un interprète pour commencer à jouer une forme écrite et ce, par des formes. De ce point de vue, Leonzio Cherubini avec qui j’ai travaillé il y a plusieurs années, a vraiment pensé ces choses-là, allant jusqu’aux partitions graphiques mobiles“.

“ On the other hand , the score suffers from the fact that it does demand a certain facility in reading graphics, ie a visual education. Now 90% of musicians are visual innocents and ignoramuses, and ironically this exacerbates the situation, since their expression or interpretation of the score is to be audible rather than visible. Mathematicians and graphic artists find the score easier to read than musicians ; they get more from it. But of course mathematicians and graphic artists do not generally have sufficient control of sound-media to produce “sublime” musical performances. My most rewarding experiences with Treatise have come through people who by some fluke have a) acquired a visual education, b) escaped a musical education and c) have nevertheless become musicians , ie play music to the full capacity of their beings… but even there it is extremely rare ”.
